Publications and Presentations
PatentDeLong was granted US Patent 7,396,207 for a Wind Turbine design on July 8, 2008. This patent covers the design of a hybrid wind blade system that combines a high efficiency rigid blade with an extendable composite foil for improved low wind speed energy capture. Depending upon the wind speed distribution in the placement region, efficiency improvements of up to 8% can be achieved based upon modeling studies.
